Does laser hair removal hurt?

Our hair removal treatments are designed to be virtually painless. Advanced contact cooling continuously cools the skin during treatment, making the experience very different from the sharp, hot sensation often associated with traditional laser hair removal.

Most clients describe feeling warmth or a mild flicking sensation, with even traditionally sensitive areas such as the bikini line and underarms generally very well tolerated. No numbing cream is required.
 

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients require approximately 6–8 treatments to achieve significant, long-lasting hair reduction.

Hair grows in different cycles and laser can only effectively target hairs that are in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. This is why a course is necessary.

You should begin to notice a difference early in your course, with progressively less hair returning and the remaining growth typically becoming finer and slower.
 

How quick are the treatments?

One of the biggest advantages of our system is its speed. Rapid pulse delivery allows us to treat large areas efficiently, making appointments considerably quicker than with many traditional laser hair removal systems.

Smaller areas can be treated in just a few minutes, while larger areas such as the legs, back or multiple body areas can be completed much more efficiently than with conventional point-by-point treatment.
 

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal provides long-lasting hair reduction. Once a hair follicle has been successfully disabled, it cannot simply produce the same hair again.

However, hormonal changes, medications and other biological factors can stimulate previously inactive follicles, which means new hair can develop over time.

Some clients therefore choose occasional maintenance treatments after completing their initial course.
 

When will I start seeing results?

You don't have to wait until the end of your course to notice a difference.

Following treatment, successfully targeted hairs gradually shed over the following days and weeks. As your course progresses, you'll usually notice less hair growing back, slower regrowth and finer, softer remaining hair.

Results build progressively as each treatment targets another cycle of actively growing hairs.

 

Can you treat all skin tones?

Our technology allows us to treat a wide range of skin tones, with treatment settings individually selected according to your skin and hair.

Your skin type will be assessed before treatment and a patch test carried out where required to ensure treatment can be performed safely and effectively.

Recent tanning activity is different from your natural skin tone and may affect when treatment can be performed.
 

Does laser hair removal work on blonde, red, grey or white hair?

Laser hair removal relies on pigment within the hair to absorb the light energy, so it works most effectively on hair containing sufficient melanin.

Very light blonde, white and grey hairs generally do not contain enough pigment to respond effectively. Red and very light hair can also respond poorly.

Do I need to shave before laser hair removal?

Yes. The treatment area should be cleanly shaved before your appointment, following the preparation instructions we provide.

Shaving removes the hair above the skin while leaving the follicle beneath the surface intact, allowing the treatment to target it effectively.
 

Can I wax or pluck between treatments?

No. Avoid waxing, plucking, threading or epilating the treatment area during your course.

These methods remove the hair from the follicle — the very structure we need present in order to treat it.

You can shave between appointments as often as necessary.
 

Can laser hair removal help with ingrown hairs?

Yes. Laser hair removal can be particularly helpful for people who experience recurrent ingrown hairs, shaving rash and irritation.

By progressively reducing the amount and thickness of hair growing from the follicles, there is less hair available to become trapped beneath the skin. Many clients choose laser hair removal specifically because they struggle with repeated ingrown hairs following shaving or waxing.
 

Can I have laser hair removal if I have recently been in the sun?

You should avoid tanning activity and significant UV exposure for 4 weeks before treatment.

This does not mean you need naturally pale skin to have laser hair removal. The restriction relates to recent tanning activity, which can temporarily increase melanin within the skin and affect how it responds to treatment.

Please also avoid fake tan on the treatment area for 2 weeks before your appointment.
 

Can I go on holiday during my laser hair removal course?

Yes. You simply need to plan your appointments around periods of significant sun exposure.

We recommend leaving at least 2 weeks after treatment before significant sun exposure, such as a sunny holiday, and avoiding tanning activity for 4 weeks before your next treatment.

This may mean leaving a slightly longer gap between appointments during the summer or around holidays, which is completely normal.
 

Can laser hair removal treat hormonal or PCOS-related hair growth?

Laser hair removal can significantly reduce unwanted dark hair associated with hormonal hair growth, including facial hair.

However, because hormonal conditions can continue to stimulate new follicles over time, these clients may require more treatments or more regular maintenance than someone without an underlying hormonal influence.

The aim is to achieve significant reduction and make ongoing hair growth much easier to manage.
